The Avison Ensemble’s world premiere recording of Avison’s recently discovered 12 concerti after Geminiani’s opus 1 Violin Sonatas is now available as a 2CD set. Avison’s arrangement of his teacher’s sonatas have been recently discovered in manuscript and these were clearly arranged as a tribute to his style. This is the first opportunity in over 200 years to hear these previously unpublished works.
